Haywood County is a "Headwaters County," meaning all of our water originates here and nothing in. That gives the county's residents sole responsibility for the stewardship of their waterways. Haywood Waterways works to protect and conserve our unique and critical water resources by focusing on the reduction of non-point source pollution through public education, community engagement, and restoring degraded streams.
